What is Sixth Sense Technology?

  • Sixth Sense Technology is a gesture wearable interface developed at MIT Lab by Steve Mann and Pranav Mistry . In 2009 they presented a prototype model and they are introduced these Sixth Sense Technology.
  • Sixth Sense Technology will be developed by integrating various concepts like Augmented Reality,Virtual Reality,Image Processing,Video Streaming,Hand Gesture Recognization.
  • Sixth Sense Technology comes with a device which comprises of a pocket projector,a mirror,a camera,a phone.
  • Sixth Sense Technology acts as an additional sense to the human to interact the physical world with digital world.

Evolution of Sixth Sense Technology

  • Steve Mann is the father of Sixth Sense Technology Who invented a Wearable Computer in Early 90's With a neck Projector,Camera,etc.,  at Media Lab.
  • Later his work was carried forward by Pranav Mistry an Indian research scientist at MIT labs.He added a various exciting applications which made this technology a  futuristic technology.
  • These two filled a patent in 2010 under the name Wear your World(WuW). 

Applications of Sixth Sense Technology

  • Using Sixth Sense Technology one can easily capture an image with there finger caps posing as a block

  4. You can get details about a product by touching with this finger caps you can get reviews,ratings about a product instantly.
  5. You can do various hand gestures to do a specific task and few of them described as above.

How Sixth Sense Technology Works?

  • Sixth Sense Technology works with various technologies like Image Processing,Hand Gesture Recognization,Augumented Reality,etc.,

  1. Captures hand gestures with camera. 
  2. Then sends the data for processing to a processor/phone.
  3. Then the output data will be sended to the pocket projector.
  4. The pocket projector projects on the mirror and the mirror reflects on a desired surface.
